Cold-Pressed Orange Juice
Most fruits, including oranges, are best eaten fresh, but you can juice them if you want a change. It’s simple to create homemade orange juice, and it tastes fantastic. Purchase a fresh sweet orange to avoid adding sugar. If the orange is too sour, add a pinch of black salt to bring it back to life, but never sugar. Vitamin C is abundant in this fresh orange juice with a mixer and blender. It is an antioxidant that helps develop our immune system to combat diseases ranging from the common cold to cancer, improves kidney function, and so detoxifies the body. However, keep in mind that vitamin C is a volatile substance that loses some of its potency when exposed to air. As a result, don’t store it for too long after you’ve made it. Serve it right away. These fruit juices can be processed through commercial cold press juicer or can be made by hand.

Steps to make cold pressed orange juice
- Juicing can be done through several processes. There is one traditional method and one commercial method. In traditional methods people use their hands and all the homemade materials. Cold pressed juices are beneficial for health. First step is to wash the oranges with water thoroughly. If you want it cold then you can refrigerate the whole fruits for a few hours.
- Peel off the peels of the oranges properly. Don’t take out the white layers and pith from the oranges. Take them out and chill them for 20 to 30 minutes in the refrigerator. Refrigerating them will keep the fruits cold giving chilling effects on the juice. Once it is cold you can put them into the blender or the juicer.
- 1 tsp lemon juice You may skip this step if you like. However, I adore how the lemon’s tanginess contrasts with the oranges’ sweetness. If you want to refrigerate the juice before drinking it, this will help keep it fresher for a little longer.
- Mix or combine for a few seconds on low to medium speed, until the mixture becomes pulpy and the oranges are crushed. However, avoid over-blending because we only need to smash the segments and don’t want to pulverize the seeds. You can also use the mixer or blender’s pulse function.
- Another way is to cut the oranges into halves by taking out the seeds. Place the halves into the machine and let it press the juices out. Machine variates, some have the option of putting the fruit together in a container and some have external processes.
- After the shredding process, keep aside all the leftovers. Clean the place and take out the juice from the container.
- While the juicing add some sugar in it. Oranges might be sweet but don’t take chances. You may require it or may not be. Sugar and lemon juices enhance the taste and fragrance of the juice. You can also add the pineapple or other fruits to the orange juice for a punch.
- After completion of all the process add the juice to the glasses of your choice. You can add a piece of orange fruit to the glass for an enticing look. You can have it directly or enjoy it with a straw.
Storage
To get the freshest, most flavorful pineapple orange, consume it within two days of purchase. Any remaining juice, on the other hand, can be kept refrigerated for up to three days in a closed container. Allow no more than two hours for the juice to reach room temperature.
Freeze any leftover orange-pineapple juice right away to preserve the nutrients in the freshly squeezed juice. Freeze in a single large container (with headspace) or an L/XL ice cube tray for “individual pieces” that thaw faster.
